Can't outlaw shoulder charge says Hasler

The Canterbury Bulldogs coach Des Hasler says it's impossible for the National Rugby League to outlaw shoulder charges mid-season.

He's calling on the Australian Rugby League Commission to make a decision on the rules of the game and not leave it to the NRL match review committee.

Hasler and the Bulldogs fought and lost a careless tackle charge on Kiwis international Frank Pritchard in round one this season, following Pritchard's challenge on Penrith winger David Simmonds, which left him concussed.

Hasler won't say whether he wants the shoulder charge banned but says it'd be difficult for coaches to tell their players not to use it during matches it's instinctive and it happens in the heat of the moment.
