Chelsea's Ivanovic losses appeal, will miss FA Cup semi-final

Chelsea's Serbian defender Branislav Ivanovic will miss Monday morning's FA Cup semi-final against Tottenham Hotspur after being banned for three matches.

Ivanovic was found guilty of violent conduct for lashing out at Wigan's Shaun Maloney in an off-the-ball incident at Stamford Bridge last weekend.

He appealed against the charge but it was dismissed by the FA.

Meanwhile Liverpool's third-choice goalkeeper, Australian Brad Jones looks set to start in Sunday's FA Cup semi-final against Everton after the club's appeal against second choice Doni's suspension was rejected.

Doni was red-carded for bringing down a Blackburn Rovers player in their premier league match earlier this week.
