After waiting 111 races for his first grand prix victory, the Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg has accepted that he might have to be patient a while longer before celebrating properly.

With the formula one circus having to pack up quickly last night to leave this morning for this weekend's race in Bahrain, Rosberg confidently predicted there'll be plenty of time to celebrate his first win, and there'll be more to follow.

26 year old Rosberg, son of the 1982 champion Keke Rosberg, had the perfect weekend in Shanghai after drawing a blank in the opening two races in Australia and Malaysia.

He secured pole position by more than half a second and took the chequered flag 20 seconds ahead of Jenson Button, giving Mercedes their first win since 1955.

Rosberg's teammate Lewis Hamilton's third straight third placing has given him a two point lead in the championship over Button.
