Fuller says Aussie netball style can attract more whistle

The Northern Mystics coach Debbie Fuller says her side was prepared for the West Coast Fever to attack the ball in last night's trans-Tasman netball clash, which the Mystics won.

In beating the Fever 52-45 in Auckland the Mystics drew level with the Melbourne Vixens on six points at the top of the table.

The Fever coach Norma Plummer is not happy about the huge penalty count her side conceded and says her defenders were penalised for things that the Mystics shooters were just as guilty of.

But Fuller says the Australian style of defence can attract more whistle as players tend to contest every ball rather than stay back and wait for intercept opportunities.
