Four triathletes named for London Olympics

Triathletes Bevan Docherty, Kris Gemmell, Andrea Hewitt and Kate McIllroy have been selected in the New Zealand team to compete at the London Olympics.

They're likely to be joined by Ryan Sissons and Nicky Samuels, pending confirmation New Zealand receives another Olympic berth in both the men's and women's events with a top eight finish in the overall ITU rankings in May.

The New Zealand Olympic Committee has also confirmed that both the men's and women's under-23 football teams are assured of a place in London.

The men's team will be captained by Tottenham Hotspur's Ryan Nelsen and the women's team by Rebecca Smith with the squads due to be named in June.

Each team can include up to three overage players.

The 50km race walker Quentin Rew has also been added to the athletics team.
