Scotland's Andy Murray has made an encouraging start to the clay court tennis season with a comprehensive 6-0 6-3 win over Victor Troicki at the Monte Carlo Masters.

Murray, who usually needs a few matches to find his stride on the European clay, got stuck into his game in record time as he overwhelmed the 30th-ranked Serbian.

The world number three has become a more credible threat since January when he took on Ivan Lendl as his coach, and Murray says they're firmly focussed on his French Open dream.

The second seed Rafael Nadal is bidding for a record 8th straight title in Monte Carlo.
