Magic can't put finger on reason for poor season

The Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic defender Casey Williams says she thought they were finally going to end their losing streak in this year's trans Tasman netball competition only to slump to a one goal loss to the Melbourne Vixens.

The Magic, who've finished in the top three in all four years of the competition, appeared on course to win their first game this season leading in Melbourne by two goals for much of the match.

But Melbourne who're unbeaten this season surged back in the final quarter as the Magic made crucial turnovers.

Williams says she can't work out what's different this season to the others, despite a number of team discussions.
