The world number one amateur golfer Lydia Ko is confident New Zealand can win its first Queen Sirikit Cup in 13 years starting in Singapore this week.
Ko will be joined by Stroke Play Champion Emily Perry and Chantelle Cassidy as the three women to contest the 34th Queen Sirikit Cup, an annual contest between 14 nations from the Asia Pacific region, officially known as the Amateur Ladies Asia-Pacific Invitational team championship.
They head to the Tanah Merah Country Club with plenty of self-belief after recently finishing in the top three places at the Lion Foundation New Zealand Stroke Play Championship in Hastings.
14-year-old Ko will celebrate her 15th birthday at the event and says they have a world-class team that will work hard to bring home the 2012 trophy.
Korea is the most successful country in the history of the Queen Sirikit Cup with 14 wins and Ko considers them the favourite again.
