Warriors coach proud but disappointed in the end

The Warriors coach Brian McClennan says he was proud of his under-strength team's effort to compete with the unbeaten Mebourne Storm for so long on Anzac Day, but disappointed with their finish.

The Warriors lost their livewire fullback Kevin Locke after only six minutes with an injury to his sternum, and they'd started without their Kiwis halfback Shaun Johnson.

But they were on terms at 14-14 before the Storm ran in three tries in the last 11 minutes to win 32-14.

McLennan hopes both Locke and Johnson will be fit for their next game against Brisbane.
