Two New Zealand rowing crews leave for Europe this weekend, hoping to gain qualification for the London Olympics.

A men's eight and a men's lightweight four will both compete at the Lucerne final Olympic qualifying regatta at the end of May.

The eight must win to gain a trip to London, while the four, which contains world champions Duncan Grant and Graham Oberlin Brown, need to finish in the top two of their event.

The two crews will compete in Serbia as a buildup to the Lucerne event.

New Zealand has already named 11 crews for the Olympics.
