Two members of the New Zealand sailing team have finished on the podium of the latest Olympic class World Cup regatta in France.

Andy Maloney won the silver medal in the Laser class, and Andrew Murdoch the bronze after the final medal races, won by the German Philipp Buhl.

Murdoch's fifth place finish allowed him to stay in third overall.

Australia's four-time world Laser champion Tom Slingsby snapped his mast as he led the medal race - condemning him from what appeared a certain gold medal to fifth overall.

Semaine Olympique Française in Hyères is one of seven Sailing World Cup events.
