Cedric Jackson honoured at Breakers awards

The New Zealand Breakers American import Cedric Jackson was named the Most Valuable Player at the club's annual awards dinner in Auckland Friday night.

Three days after the Breakers defended their National Basketball league title, Jackson also took out the Players' Player of the Year gong.

Tom Abercrombie picked up the fans' Player of the Year award in recognition for his heroics throughout a season in which he improved his key stats

And despite being limited by a debilitating ankle injury that saw him miss game one of the finals against Perth and play a limited role in the remaining two games, Abercrombie made one of the plays of his career in blocking Shawn Redhage with just over 30 seconds left to play at Vector Arena on Tuesday.

Jackson says his dream is to play in the NBA, but says if he doesn't make it he'd love to return to the Breakers.
