Ferguson has fears over goal difference

The former Manchester United footballer Gary Neville says the club's long serving manager Alex Ferguson is in fear of his worst nightmare - losing the English Premier League title on goal difference.

After losing 1-0 to City in their local derby on Tuesday, Roberto Mancini's team has a goal difference of 61 going into the final two games, compared with United's 53.

It's the closest title race since 1989 when Arsenal secured the Premiership having scored more goals during the season than Liverpool.

Neville, who retired last year, says Alex Ferguson always talked about the importance of goal difference throughout the season.
