France's world tennis number five Jo-Wilfried Tsonga has suffered a setback in his buildup to the French Open later this month.
The top seed has crashed out of the BMW tournament in Munich, beaten in round two by the former world number two Tommy Haas 6-1 6-4.
Haas, who is now a naturalised American, will play Cyprus's Marcos Baghdatis in the quarter-finals.
