The International Sailing Federation has announced that Kite Boarding will replace Windsurfing in future Olympics.
Boardsailing has been an Olympic event since 1984 and New Zealand has won 7 medals including 3 gold.
The matter was decided by the ISAF Council, Meeting in Italy and exceed the recommendations of its own Evaluation Team, which proposed that the sport be added to the ISAF World Cup circuit from 2013, before being added to the Olympics, either replacing Windsurfing or as 11th and 12th Medal Events.
Boardsailing will be held at this year's London Olympics.
