The international banking executive Chris Bayliss has been appointed Chief Executive of the New Zealand Racing Board.

The 45-year-old Bayliss, who most recently worked for the National Australia Bank, has been installed following a global recruitment process and will take the reins in August.

The Board's Chairman, Michael Stiassny, says Bayliss is an exceptional appointment, and that the Board is on track to achieve its best ever turnover result this year.
