SANZAR will be happy with the tough stand they took last year over lost revenues during a World Cup season.
Unions will get a bigger slice of the World Cup pie after the International Rugby Board decided to increase funding to at least $15 million for each Union over a four year cycle.
The New Zealand Rugby Union backed by their SANZAR partners had threatened to boycott the tournament if they didn't get compensation for lost revenues because of a lack of tours and limited sponsorship during a World Cup year.
The New Zealand Rugby Union said it lost $13 million in potential revenue last year.
Until this week, the NZRU received around $6 million for every four-year international cycle, but now are guaranteed at least $15 million, while SANZAR and Argentina could share an extra $20 million should the Rugby Championship be affected by the 2015 World Cup - which is highly likely.
