Cory Jane out for six weeks

The Hurricanes winger Cory Jane wil miss next month's test series against Ireland after being ruled out for up to six weeks with an ankle sprain.

Jane injured the ankle in the Hurricanes' 37-25 loss to the ACT Brumbies in Wellington on Friday night and his absence causes concerns for new All Blacks coach Steve Hansen, who had just one fit winger, Julian Savea, in the extended 35-man training squad he named for two training camps before the Ireland series - so he's recalled the Crusaders winger Zac Guildford.

Jane's Hurricanes team-mate Karl Lowe was also injured in the loss to the Brumbies, sustaining a knee injury that will keep him out for between four and six weeks.
