Rennie pleased with Chiefs' character

The Chiefs coach Dave Rennie is pleased with his side's 28-22 comeback win over the Bulls in Hamilton on Friday night, which has put them back on top of the Super Rugby standings.

Down 16-8 at half-time, the Chiefs had a better second half, fired by slick passing from the first five eighth Aaron Cruden and line-breaking second five Sonny Bill Williams.

The Bull's vaunted defence buckled under pressure to concede two tries in the second half and the Chiefs' third try by replacement flanker Sam Cane from a Williams offload put the home side six points up with 10 minutes remaining.

Rennie says it was a gutsy performance and his side had to battle to get more possession in the second half.
