Farquhar looking for consistency

11:57 am on 1 June 2012

The Hamilton javelin thrower Stuart Farquhar wants to improve his consistency during a series of meetings over the next few weeks as he builds up to the Olympics.

Farquhar leads the world in javelin this year with a personal best of 86.31 metres.

Farquhar is competing in the Prefontaine Classic in Oregon this weekend in a classy field.

He says he's trying to be less erratic with his throws.

Middle distance runner Nick Willis is also competing in Oregon this weekend.

On Friday morning Valerie Adams won the shot put at the Rome Diamond League meeting.
