So You Think wins at Ascot

11:27 am on 21 June 2012

The New Zealand-born thoroughbred horse So You Think has crashed the royal party at Ascot, defeating the Queen's horse Carlton House in the Prince Of Wales's Stakes.

The dual Cox Plate winner, now trained in Ireland by Aidan O'Brien, went one better than his second in the same 2,000-metre race last year.

So You Think is now likely to contest the Eclipse Stakes next month and could face superstar Frankel over the 2,000-metre event at Sandown.

So You Think is scheduled to be retired after the Eclipse and returned to Australia for the spring breeding season.

No New Zealand horse had ever won a race at Royal Ascot before the Cambridge-born and raised Little Bridge won the King's Stand Stakes on Tuesday.

Both horses were born and raised in Cambridge before being sold through New Zealand Bloodstock auctions at Karaka.
