Wozniacki shocked on day three at Wimbledon

There've been two major upsets in the women's draw on day three at Wimbledon.

The US Open champion Samantha Stosur and the former world number one Caroline Wozniacki have both been knocked out.

Australian doom and gloom was complete on day three when Stosur became the highest seeded casualty at this year's championships, the women's number five losing 6-2 0-6 6-4 to the Dutchwoman Arantxa Rus, the world number 72.

It's believed to be the first time ever that no Australian male or female has made the third round of a grand slam tournament.

And the seventh seeded Wozniacki went out to the unseeded Austrian Tamira Paszek in an epic match lasting more than three hours.

21 year old Paszek, the world number 37, had won the Eastbourne warm-up tournament last weekend.

The six-time men's champion Roger Federer is through to the third round after beating the Italian Fabio Fognini 6-1 6-3 6-2.
