The French golfer Gregory Bourdy holds a one-stroke lead over Englishman Mark Foster heading into the weekend at the Irish Open.

Both carded superb five under par second rounds while Ireland's Padaig Harrington is another shot back in a three-way share of third at Royal Portrush in Northern Ireland.

But the home country's major championship winners Rory McIlroy, Graeme McDowell and Darren Clarke are further down the leaderboard.

McIlroy and McDowell are seven strokes off the pace, while Clarke's another shot behind.

Wellington's Michael Campbell missed the cut by a massive 10 strokes after a second-round blowout - the 2005 US Open champion carded a seven over 79.
