6:30 am on 3 July 2012

The world time-trial champion Tony Martin says he will be fit for the London Olympics despite breaking a bone in his wrist and continuing to ride at the Tour de France.

The German suffered the injury in a crash on Sunday's first stage which also left his elbows bloodied.

His Tour de France hopes appear to be slim as he stis 4 minutes and forty-five seconds behind yellow-jersey leader Fabian Cancellara.

But he says he'll be fit for the Olympics at the end of the month and they will allow him a shot at redemption.
