Giggs to captain British Olympic team

The Welsh winger Ryan Giggs will captain Britain's soccer team at the London Olympics.

Head coach Stuart Pearce says 38 year old Giggs, the oldest of the three over-age players in the 18-man squad, was the standout candidate for the captaincy of a side that includes Wales' captain Aaron Ramsey and Micah Richards who has captained Manchester City.

Giggs, a Manchester United veteran, is the most decorated player in English soccer history.
