Mystics would like to see Magic in preliminary final

The assistant Northern Mystics coach Gail Parata says it's disappointing her side lost the ANZ netball major semi final, after holding a five goal lead over the Melbourne Vixens last night.

The Vixens came out firing in the second half and eventually beat the Mystics 56-50 to go straight through to the grand final.

Parata says their ultimate goal was to win and secure a home grand final - which is seen as key to winning the title.

The Mystics will now play the winner of tonight's minor semi-final between the Adelaide Thunderbirds and Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic for the right to return to Melbourne.

Parata says it doesn't make much difference who they play but admits it would be good if the Magic come through to ensure a New Zealand side makes the grand final.
