World netball's most capped player Irene van Dyk ruled out any thoughts of retirement after helping the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic become the first NZ franchise to win the trans-Tasman championship.
The Magic took the lead for the first time in Sunday's grand final against the Vixens only six minutes from the end with 40-year-old van Dyk slotting 25 goals from 26 attempts in the 41-38 win in Melbourne, and the sharp shooter remains as enthusiastic about the game as ever.
Van Dyk says despite finally winning the only silverware that had eluded her in her long career, she's keen to try it again as that's why she plays the game - to win.
The Magic's defender Leana de Bruin was named player of the final.
