The former England football manager Fabio Capello has vowed to turn Russia into one of the world's top teams after signing a two-year contract as the country's new national coach.

The Russian media is saying the 66-year-old Italian stands to make up to 10-million euros a year, and he's promised to blood new players into an ageing team.

A leading football columnist has asked how much Capello's appointment is going to cost, along with the five Italian assistants he plans to bring to Moscow.
