The Australian Rugby League Commission will take their time to consider lifting Robert Lui's one-year playing ban after the North Queensland Cowboys halfback stated his case in Sydney last night.
ARLC interim boss Shane Mattiske would give no time frame on when a decision would be made on Lui, who was placed on a two-year good behaviour bond and fined in April after admitting to assaulting his girlfriend while he was a player at Wests Tigers.
The Cowboys chief executive Peter Jourdain and the club's player welfare manager Kevin Marty accompanied Lui to Sydney, reportedly with a promising statement from a psychologist and a list of the banned player's community work in Townsville.
