The New Zealand Cricketers are counting on taking early wickets on day three of their first test match against the West Indies in Antigua.

The West Indies put in a dominant performance finishing the day on 145 without loss in reply to the Black Caps first innings total of 351.

Chris Gayle was the key man for the Windies as he was left on 85 not out despite being dropped by Daniel Flynn on 36.

The Black Caps spin bowler Daniel Vettori says they will look to remove Gayle early on day three to give them a chance of restricting the Windies to a par score.

Daniel Vettori's inclusion in the match also means he is now New Zealand's most capped test cricketer.
