The Swedish golfer Carl Pettersson is leading after the first round of the US PGA Championship on Kiawah Island in South Carolina.
Pettersson shot a six under par 66 on the first day to put himself one shot ahead of a chasing pack of four that includes Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy and fellow Swede Alex Noren.
Tiger Woods is in a share of 14th place on 3 under par, while world number one Luke Donald is behind the pace at 2 over par.
