Search begins for new men’s hockey coach

Hockey New Zealand will shortly begin the of recruiting a new Black Sticks men's coach after Shane McLeod announced he's stepping down following the Black Sticks poor showing at the Olympics.

McLeod is contracted until the end of the year, but won't be applying for the role when it is advertised.

Since taking on the role in 2007, McLeod's guided the Black Sticks to a Bronze medal at the 2010 Commonwealth Games, beating Australia at the 2011 Oceania Cup, fourth place at the 2011 Champions Trophy, and winning the 2012 Azlan Shah Cup for the first time.
