The race for the National Rugby League's minor Premiership will go down to the final week, after the Melbourne Storm scored a thrilling, last minute 20-18 home win over the Cronulla Sharks on Monday night.

The Storm can still pip the Bulldogs for top spot heading into the playoffs, after two tries in the final two minutes got them home.

Centre Will Chambers sealed the win after Melbourne fought back from 18-10 down with second rower Ryan Hoffman also crossing before Chambers struck for the heart-stopping win over the Sharks, who deserved the victory.

But instead of the visitors locking down sixth position, the Storm were celebrating securing a top two position ahead of the looming NRL finals.
