TheMelbourne Storm have confirmed winger Matt Duffie's National Rugby League season is over with the Kiwis international to undergo shoulder surgery next week.

Duffie dislocated his left shoulder in round 19 and made a comeback in the New South Wales Cup last week to try to prove his fitness ahead of the finals series.

But the 22-year-old admitted to struggling with the injury last weekend, and Storm medical staff have opted to shut him down for 2012 in a bid to have him back in time for pre-season training next year.
