The tennis world number four Andy Murray has won the US Open, claiming his maiden major title 76 years after a British man last won a grand slam title.
Murray beat defending champion Novak Djokovic 7-6 7-5 2-6 3-6 6-2 in a five set thriller in New York fifth to claim his maiden Grand Slam title in his fifth attempt.
