All Blacks defeat South Africa

The All Blacks have defeated the Springboks 21-11 in their Rugby Championship clash in Dunedin.

Aaron Smith and Israel Dagg crossed the line for the All Blacks who outscored the Springboks two tries to one.

Bryan Habana scored South Africa's only try with a brilliant individual effort against the run of play.

The Springboks could have won the game if they hadn't missed seven shots at goal.

The South African captain Jean de Villiers used three goalkickers and says their lack of success could be due to the Adidas ball.

He says in South Africa a Gilbert ball is used and he also noted that the kickers struggled at Dunedin's covered stadium during last year's World Cup.

The match lived up to its billing of being a tough physical encounter, which the All Black coach Steve Hansen described as torrid.

Late in the second half the Springbok replacement prop Dean Greyling was sin-binned for a cheap shot on Richie McCaw during a ruck. Greyling has been cited for the incident.
