Sheens reported to have quit as Wests Tigers coach

Wests Tigers' long-serving league coach Tim Sheens has reportedly quit as coach as the NRL club after ten years, following days of player unrest.

Sheens is believed to have told the players and club of his decision yesterday afternoon, and a scheduled board meeting at the club to discuss his future didn't eventuate last night.

While the Tigers are working on a financial settlement with the four-time premiership-winning coach, it's understood the club couldn't afford to pay Sheens the 900-thousand dollars due on the remaining two years of his contract.

There's been speculation Sheens might be hired by the New Zealand Warriors, a move which would lessen the payout from the Tigers.
