After days of silence, the Australian Rugby Union has made a three sentence public response to Quade Cooper's outspoken comments on the Wallabies.
Injured five-eighth Cooper spoke of a toxic environment within the national team set-up last weekend, sparking rumours he might be finishing up with rugby union and possibly contemplating a switch to rugby league.
In response, the ARU issued a brief statement today saying they'd written to the star player but without elaborating on whether Cooper would be facing any disciplinary action over his comments or not.
The statement also failed to respond to Cooper's claims of problems within the setup of the game, leaving fans in the dark over whether the Queensland Reds player has a legitimate gripe or is just venting personal frustration.
