New Zealand A cricketers in hard fought draw with India A

10:00 am on 30 September 2012

The New Zealand A cricketers have had an entertaining draw with India A at the Bert Sutcliffe Oval in Lincoln.

The game ended with India just two wickets short of victory when play was called off due to bad light, while New Zealand was 41 runs short of their target.

India declared after an hour's play on the final day setting the New Zealanders 314 to win off a maximum of 82 overs.

George Worker and Neil Broom were New Zealand's best batsman for the day, scoring 72 and 89 respectively.

But after their partnership was broken the New Zealand wickets were falling freely and they needed Luke Woodcock to hold the tail together with a stubborn 26 not out as bad light resulted in the game ending early.
