Belgium's Ryder Cup rookie Nicolas Colsaerts described the post-match party in Chicago as "a bit wild" after emerging bleary-eyed the morning after Europe's remarkable comeback win over United States at the Medinah Country Club.
Colsaerts said everything went so fast from the final moments around the 18th green until after the party, and he described the whole experience as both the highlight and the scariest event of his career.
Both teams normally get together once the dust has settled following a Ryder Cup match, but the European captain Jose Maria Olazabal said only a few American players and their wives had joined them as they were obviously feeling down.
The Europeans faced what was thought to be the near impossible task of winning 8 of the 12 singles matches on the final day, and their 8-1/2 points gave them a 14-1/2 13-1/2 victory.
The team dedicated their momentous victory to the memory of the Spanish legend Seve Ballesteros, who died last year of cancer.
