The Canterbury Bulldogs post grand-final tailspin continued when their English international prop James Graham was banned for 12 weeks for biting the Melbourne Storm's fullback Billy Slater during last Sunday's league season finale in Sydney.

Graham pleaded not guilty to the charge and firmly maintained his innocence throughout a marathon hearing lasting more than three hours before he was given the longest ban for the offence in Australian rugby league history.

The NRL has yet to decide if the suspension will include England's test matches against Wales and France before the start of the new Australian season.
