The New Zealand swimmers Melissa Ingram and Glenn Snyders have both won a race at a FINA World Cup meet in Stockholm.

Ingram won the women's 200 metres backstroke, while Snyders broke the New Zealand short course record in winning the 50 breaststroke on the first day of competition.

Snyders edged Brazil's Junior Gomes to the touch in the final in 26.61 seconds, which broke the national record he set in Doha.

The pair had four podium finishes each before their first victories at the meet.
