The New Zealand cricket all-rounder Daniel Vettori will miss the Black Caps' upcoming tour of Sri Lanka due to injury while Martin Guptill will be rested for the Twenty20 and one day matches.
The Black Caps squads to play the one T20, five one dayers and two test matches were named today with the short form squad including 12 players who featured in the recent Twenty/20 World Cup.
Joining those players are Trent Boult, Andrew Ellis and Tom Latham who played in the last one day series against the West Indies.
Rob Nicol returns to the Test squad while fellow top order batsman Todd Astle is the only new cap to be named.
Paceman Doug Bracewell has been left out of the short-form squad so he can spend some time working on some technical issues with his action.
BJ Watling will return to New Zealand after the one-day matches with the New Zealand selectors believing it best for his development if he's made available for the upcoming domestic Plunket Shield fixtures.
Vettori has not recovered sufficiently from his Achilles injury and was not considered for the tour while fellow spinner Tarun Nethula has missed out on selection.
