The world tennis number two Novak Djokovic has avenged his US Open final loss to Andy Murray by saving five match points to outlast the Briton 5-7 7-6 6-3 to win the Shanghai Masters.
The resilient Serbian came from a set down and 3-5 down in the second to win a tiebreaker before taking the deciding set 6-3.
Djokovic had lost to Murray in their last two meetings, the U.S. Open final and in the semi-finals of the London Olympic tournament.
At one stage the Serb exploded angrily and demolished his racket with three hefty smashes
before tossing it towards his chair, receiving a warning in the process.
He now leads Murray 9-7 in their head-to-head meetings.
