The Australian V8 Supercars executive chairman Tony Cochrane says he's confident the Auckland round of the championship will pay back the 6.6 million dollars invested in the event.

The money will be used to bring the Pukekohe circuit up to international standard, with improved safety and corporate facilities.

The track will also be modified to include three new corners built near the end of its long back straight.

Cochrane's confident the V8 Supercars will get their money back.

Pukekohe will host the 4th round of the Championship on April 12th to 14th.

The promoters say work will begin next month on the circuit upgrades.
