The Auckland cricketers have been beaten by the South African side the Titans, losing by 59 runs in their second group match at the Champions League Twenty20 match at Kingsmead in Durban.

The Titans posted 172 for four from their 20 overs, before dismissing the Aces for 113 in the 19th over.

After winning the toss and deciding to bowl first, Auckland failed to pick up wickets and put any pressure on the South Africans with openers Henry Davids and Jacques Rudolph putting on 74 for the first wicket.

By contrast the Aces lost regular wickets with bowler Andre Adams top scoring with 30 late in the game.

The Aces play the Delhi Daredevils next early on Saturday morning.

They now have a win and a loss in group play.
