Guptill takes top cricket award

Batsman Martin Guptill has been given the supreme honour at the New Zealand cricket awards, being named the Sir Richard Hadlee Medal winner.

Guptill also picked up the Redpath Cup for First-Class batting, the Twenty20 Player of the Year and the One Day International Player of the Year.

Guptill was second only to Ross Taylor in Test runs scored during the period, while topping the ODI and T20I tables for the Blackcaps.

Guptill is in South Africa playing the Champions League Twenty20 tournament.

Doug Bracewell was named Test Player of the Year, he also won the Winsor Cup for first class bowling and picked up the Fans Choice Award for his performance in New Zealand beating Australia in the Test in Tasmania.

Amy Satterthwaite was named international women's cricketer.
