Unbeaten Frankel to highlight Ascot meeting

6:10 am on 19 October 2012

Frankel, the world's highest-rated thorughbred racehorse, heads into his probable racecourse farewell this weekend "better than ever and still improving" according to his trainer Henry Cecil, but there's a concern about his ability to cope with Ascot track if he gets heavy.

Four year old Frankel is unbeaten in 13 career starts and he faces five rivals in this weekend's Champion Stakes, part of the richest day in British racing.

69 year old Henry Cecil, Britain's 10-time champion trainer, says its been a privileged having Frankel in his stable, and he believes the horse has helped him in his own personal battle with cancer.
