Aces beaten in South Africa

The Auckland cricket team has been eliminated from the Champions League Twenty20 tournament in South Africa after losing their last group match.

The Aces were beaten by 16-runs by the Perth Scorchers.

Needing a win to stay in contention for the semi-finals, the Aces were unable to chase down their target of 141, finishing on 124 for 8.

Michael Bates took 4 for 34 as Perth scored 140 for 7, while Martin Guptil top scored with 36 in their chase.

Auckland finish bottom of their group, while the Delhi Daredevils and Titans of South Africa qualify for the semi-finals.
