Drysdale returns to rowing action

New Zealand's Olympic rowing champion Mahe Drysdale says he enjoyed his return to competive action.

Drysdale finished ninth in the single sculls at the Head of the Charles regatta in Boston which is a 4,800 metre winding course on the Charles river.

Drysdale has only been on the water four times since London and two of those times were just before the Boston race.

He says he hasn't trained since London and so is fairly happy with his race.

He says he had fun on a beautiful course and that was the main thing.

Drysdale is on tour before rejoining the New Zealand elite squad on Lake Karapiro next month.
